It is through praise and worship that we as Christians draw near to God. Psalm 100:4 says that we enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise. Psalms 22 says he that He inhabits the praises of His people. In the old testament people worshipped at Jerusalem in the temple. When Jesus met the Samaritan woman at the well He told her that the hour had come when all worshippers must worship the Father in spirit and in truth and that the Father even sought such worshippers (John 21-24). Praise and worship is not just a song service where we sing songs. It is not an outward performance. It has to come from the heart. It is always better to sing songs to God rather than about Him. There are lots of songs that sing about God. And I believe there is a time where we need to declare God and make his praises known, but I believe it is more important to sing songs that minister to the Lord. We can make song personal simply by changing some of the words around and saying YOU instead of Him. There are so many aspects of praise and worship. The most important one though, in my opinion, is to make sure you have your own praise and worship time with God. There is no need for musical instruments, although, that would be nice. This first video is meant to let you get to know me, to tell my story, and to give you an understanding of the purpose and framework of this channel. When I was approximately 14 year old I was involved with The CP sports program. This is not the same as Special Olympics; this is competitive. This is not a put down to Special O they just serve a different population, they do great work! That’s just not the program I was involved with. While at a sports meet I met up with a volunteer who told me that if I went to church, prayed and read my bible enough I could be healed of the Cerebral Palsy. Well, as you might imagine when you are a teen and are dealing with any kind of difference that sounded quite appealing. So I took him up on this. He gave me a Bible I read it daily, went to church, Catholic at the time, and prayed as often as possible. And. . . NONTHING HAPPENED. So I started to …

Jesus died on a cross for the payment of sins. He didn’t die to save Himself for He was sinless. Jesus Christ went through one of the worst deaths in all of human history. The crucifixion was such a horrible and painful death that a new word was created from it: excruciating. He was mocked, beat upon, a crown of thorns forced onto his head, 39 (40 would kill you and they wanted you to feel the pain) lashings with a whip made up of 9 strips of leather with stone, bone, glass, and metal embedded in those strips to catch the flesh, he was falsely accused, arrested at night and kept awake all night leading to exhaustion, rocks thrown at Him, forced to carry a beam of wood that weighed up to 100 pounds, and nailed onto a rough piece of wood (this is after His flesh was torn from his body…imagine your entire body was cut open being forced up against rough wood), the nails were driven into some of the most sensitive parts of the body. It was hard to breathe. Every breathe meant pain raging throughtout your entire body. He was hungry. He was thirsty. All of the sin of the entire human race and the wrath that comes from that sin was placed upon Him. He didn’t die to save Himself. He died to save you and me.
